Meet the Staff

Kathy Knappmiller-Dental Assistant 

Kathy is originally from Vermont, vacationed in the area, decided to relocate 22 years ago, and now considers it home. She has been a dental assistant for over 40 years in various specialties and has been with Dr. Skinner’s practice since 2016. She loves what she does, and it shows. Patient care is paramount to her and her ability to read Doc’s mind is uncanny! You truly feel cared for when you are in the chair!  

Cindy Dental Laboratory Technician

Cindy was born and raised in Wilmington and has been a member of our team since 2018. She brings 30 – plus years in the dental field and her strong artistic ability to the lab, creating beautiful work. She takes pride in her work and it shows! In her free time, Cindy enjoys painting and restoring furniture.

Sara Office Manager/Patient Care Coordinator

Sara is a native of North Carolina, and a graduate of UNC-W, so the Wilmington area called her back after leaving thirty years ago. Happy to be back close to family, friends and the ocean she started out with Dr. Skinner part-time and then moved into the role three years ago. “Meeting and taking care of our patients is the most rewarding job, they become like family”. In her free time, she enjoys all the activities the area has to offer and spending time with friends and family.
